Active thermal protection for medical evacuation and first aid. The MEDEVAC actively heated stretchers are designed to effectively prevent hypothermia in injured patients or those at risk of shock. They provide a reliable, active source of heat in situations where passive insulation alone is insufficient. The focus is on military, police, and civilian rescue operations where time, temperature control, and patient safety are critical. Especially in cold, wet, or windy operational environments, hypothermia poses a significant additional risk. The MEDEVAC Heated Mats directly address this risk and create stable conditions for medical care as early as the prehospital phase.

In tactical rescue, every minute counts—and every decision that makes care faster, safer, and more efficient. MEDEVAC heated stretchers deliver warmth exactly where it is needed: directly to the patient. Instead of heating an entire tent, container, or large area, the energy is used in a targeted manner to prevent hypothermia and protect the injured during stabilization, transport, and waiting times.
The decisive advantage lies in energy efficiency: heat is not “lost to the room” but acts directly on the body. This reduces consumption and logistical effort and makes it possible to use the mats even where electricity and fuel are scarce. At the same time, the targeted heat supply improves the team’s operational capability because less time and material is spent on large-scale heating solutions.
Another tactical advantage is the lower heat signature. Heating entire tents or large areas often creates a clearly recognizable thermal signature. A heated mat works locally, with less waste heat to the outside – this means less conspicuousness and greater protection from detection. This reduced signature can be a clear advantage, especially in covert operations, at forward assembly points, or during rescue operations under threat.
This makes the MEDEVAC mat a tactical tool: it increases the chances of survival through better protection against the cold, saves energy, and simplifies care – while also supporting the goal of remaining as undetected as possible during operations. Warmth where it counts: on the patient. Exactly when it matters.
The integrated heating zones of the MEDEVAC Heated Mats ensure uniform heat between 36 and 38 °C. This temperature range was deliberately chosen to actively stabilize the patient’s body without the risk of overheating. An automatic temperature control system continuously monitors operation and ensures safe, constant heat input, even during longer periods of use or changing environmental conditions.
MEDEVAC Heated Mats were developed for tactical and medical deployment scenarios. MEDEVAC Heated Mats are lightweight, robust, and quick to deploy. They can be integrated into existing procedures without preparation and are fully compatible with all NATO standard stretchers. This makes them suitable for use in a wide variety of organizational structures, from military medical units and police special forces to civilian rescue services and disaster response units.
Power is supplied by a MIL-standard BB-2590 12 V battery, allowing the mats to be operated completely independently. This is particularly important in remote areas, during evacuations, or in situations where infrastructure is not secure.
Typical application scenarios
MEDEVAC Heated Mats are used wherever patients are at increased risk of hypothermia.
In all these scenarios, the heating mats make a crucial contribution to stabilizing patients and improving their chances of survival.
They can be seamlessly integrated into existing systems.
MEDEVAC Heated Mats can be easily combined with other tactical systems. In conjunction with mobile shelters, heating systems, or self-sufficient energy supplies, they create a closed, controlled treatment area—regardless of the environment, weather, or duration of use. This system capability makes MEDEVAC Heated Mats a central component of modern tactical medical concepts.
Developed for professional use.
MEDEVAC Heated Mats are not a comfort product, but a medical device for professional users in real-world conditions. They stand for reliability, safety, and ease of use in situations where medical care is provided under pressure.
In combat, thermal signature is a key factor in protecting the forces deployed. A reduced thermal signature lowers the probability of detection by enemy forces and thus contributes significantly to operational security. Against this background, it is safer and more efficient to use heat selectively, for example by using a heated sleeping mattress, rather than heating an entire tent. This measure limits the heat emitted to the outside, reduces the risk of detection, and at the same time optimizes energy use.
