CANHEAT NATO DIESEL HEATER - TACTICAL MILITARY HEATING SYSTEM

CanHeat is a tactical, mobile air heating system that complies with MIL-SPEC standards and was developed specifically for military operations in extreme climatic conditions. The system combines robust construction, NATO compatibility, and flexible energy supply in a compact, transportable solution.

Developed in Canada at the request of the US Marines, CanHeat meets the highest standards of reliability, safety, and ease of use in arctic, alpine, and worldwide areas of operation.

CANHEAT DEVELOPMENT AND NATO COMPATIBILITY

CANHEAT SYSTEM DESIGN AND SCOPE OF DELIVERY

The CanHeat Tactical System has a modular design and is delivered in three separate MIL-SPEC transport cases. This design ensures maximum flexibility during transport and secure, structured system integration in the field.

Components of the 3-case system:

  • Heating unit (air heater case)
  • Control and power box (control case)
  • Hose case with 2 × 3 m warm air hoses


Standard scope of delivery:

  • CanHeat Tactical Air Heater MIL SPEC
  • Tactical Control Case MIL SPEC
  • 2 × 3 m air hoses with quick coupling
  • 3 m industrial polar cable 12V with NATO plug
  • 3 m industrial polar cable 230V Europe with NATO plug
  • Industrial inverter with integrated software system
  • 7.5 liter fuel tank (mounted)

CANHEAT FUNCTIONAL PRINCIPLE

CanHeat works on the principle of outside air intake with separate heat dissipation. This means that damp, cold outside air is drawn in, heated, and fed into the target area as dry, condensation-free warm air.

Important operating principles:

  • The heating unit is always located outdoors during operation
  • The control box can be positioned in a heated indoor area
  • Warm air is supplied via flexible industrial hoses
  • Moisture and condensation are effectively reduced


This system increases safety and comfort, even during longer stays or while sleeping.

CANHEAT ENERGY SUPPLY

CanHeat was developed for maximum flexibility in energy supply and can be operated both independently and connected to the mains.

Battery operation

The system can be operated exclusively on batteries. It automatically switches between three NATO batteries.

  • Up to 7 hours of runtime per battery at full load
  • Up to 21 hours of total runtime with three batteries
  • Batteries can be changed during operation


Mains and vehicle operation

Alternatively, CanHeat can be operated via:

  • 12–17V DC
  • 110V AC
  • 230V AC

All connections comply with NATO standards.

CANHEAT FUEL SYSTEM

CanHeat is multifuel-capable and can be operated with various military and civilian fuels. This increases logistical flexibility in use.

Suitable fuels:

  • F-34
  • JP-8
  • Diesel
  • Construction site diesel
  • Kerosene


The integrated 7.5-liter tank is shockproof and equipped with a safety valve.
